Greetings fellow Tom Atkins fanatics,
I need your help. I'm trying to think of the title of a movie he did in the 1980s along with Doug McKeon of "On Golden Pond" fame and Diane Ladd.
McKeon played a teenage boy who was an addict of some sort. Ladd played his mother. Tom Atkins played his father who worked a "fifteen-hour-a-day job" according to the movie.
The son was really messed up and had to be committed by movie's end. I remember that Atkins gave a wonderful performance as the father. It shows that he can do more than star in horror and action films.
Does anyone remember this movie? If so, what is it called? HELP!

IMDB's "People" listings include a search function that lets you to enter two actors' names and find out any films they've been credited in together.
