Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — John Amos

    weltalldx — 18 years ago(June 09, 2007 05:18 PM)

I just watch roots and John Amos' portrayal of adult kunta kinte was dead on 100% believable. I felt sad, happy, and angry throughout the course of the film, and my heart arched for the character(kunta kinte) that he played. I'm not normally one to watch "black" films, but Roots has changed my attitude and I now have newfound respect for African Americans.

Mr Amos is underated to say the least. It was always a pleasant surprise to find he was in a film I was watching.

Agreed his a fine actor, but this was a really awful film, really cant believe he's in such good shape for a man his age.

Agree as well! He's probably one of the best actors out there never to receieve substantial recognition for his work.
You've got genuine, longstanding fans, Mr. Amos, don't ever doubt it! (And I never even liked "Good Times")
Is the nightmare black, or are the windows painted?
