I read on the nndb.com website Carroll was an amputee. Does anyone have any idea about the information on this? I assume his leg, he limped a few times in All in the Family. Somebody gimme some info please.

It wasn't anything major. He head a toe amputated about 8 months or so before he died due to the diabetes.
