    Rest in peace, Mr. Minghella.
Perhaps I am just ignorant to the duties of an agent. What purpose does an agent serve to a director?

Much like an actor, to find them work.
Producers are getting projects up and running and agents put forward their clients for consideration for the key positions.
Not just actors, directors and writers, but lots of technical people are with agencies too.
And of course, it is the agent's job to negotiate fees and conditions.
      I AM THE THREAD KILLER.
