Ratings out of 10 and ordered.
01 Secrets & Lies (1996) 10/10 - His best as it combines everything I love about his films in a perfectly balanced manner and mostly eliminated the few things I don't like so much.
02 Another Year (2010) 10/10 - Almost as good as Secrets & Lies, but the cast of S&L give it the edge (just). Lesley Manville though, Good God
03 Topsy-Turvy (1999) 9.5/10 - Just glorious fun
04 Naked (1993) 9/10 - Thewlis and Cartlidge are phenomenal in this. A bit preachy though, so it loses a point.
05 High Hopes (1988) 9/10 - Ruth Sheens finest hour. A really nice and uplifting film.
06 All or Nothing (2002) 9/10 - Oh so down beat. Such incredible performances from Manville and Spall though.
07 Bleak Moments (1971) 9/10 - This film is just so hard to watch. So painfully uncomfortable and cringe inducing, but I loved every minute despite that.
08 Vera Drake (2004) 8.5/10 - Imelda Staunton kinda makes this one seem a little better than it probably is, but it's a top notch film all the same.
09 Happy-Go-Lucky (2008) 8.5/10 - Very light and breezy compared to most of his work. It was a nice change though when you consider what came before and after it.
10 Career Girls (1997) 8/10 - This doesn't get enough credit in my opinion. Is their a hell of a lot of contrivance? Well yes, but it was still great all the same and Cartlidge was again wonderful.
11 Life Is Sweet (1990) 7.5/10 - Wasn't crazy on this. It wasn't bad or anything, just forgettable in comparison to all his other work.
Meantime and Abigail's Party would be 9/10 therby pushing #8 - 11 down two spots.
Im gonna rock your world in quite a gentle way. Like a delicious cake as opposed to a bag of drugs -

For me; the greatest director to come from Britain and one of my favourites of all time. His "slice-of-life" films are both tragic and funny with expertly written dialogue, incredibly well-realized characters, and an assortment of relateable real-life issues. Not to mentida0on his impressive improvisation techniques, honest observations of human behaviour and remarkable recreations of lower/middle-class living situations (with his very early work being somewhat profound time-capsules of 70s/80s "Sunny England").
