It might be genetic that he does not have chest hair. I grew up with, and dated, some guys that had no chest hair and very little pit hair
Do you know for a fact that he shaves it?

I prefer no hair. I don't enjoy being bruised by rough hairs. I do enjoy the feel of smooth skin. Not all women dig the hairiness thing (otherwise they would be hairy themselves) and I don't see how that equates to masculinity but to each their own.
