While there is some definite truth to your argument of face symmetry being what many humans find visually appealing, it is absurd to imply that face symmetry is the "holy grail" for what ALL people deem attractive. In your list you mentioned some truly beautiful women. I especially agree with Alyssa Milano and Charlize Theron. Carmen Electra WAS that sort of manufactured sexy, loads of makeup type of pretty. I always sort of viewed her as a brunette Pamela Anderson. Carmen Electra isn't known for having a stunning face or being elegant or particularly talented. She is known as being "hot." Same goes for Pam Anderson. Victoria Beckham? I have never looked at "Posh Spice" and thought to myself, "Wownow that is one foxy lady!" I almost don't notice her at all. If it weren't for having a zillion kids and still weighing like 80 pounds, her constant sour puss facial expression and hearing her name regularly, I wouldn't think anything of her at all. Which brings me to the most important factor you should consider. Charisma. That "sparkle" factor that some of us have and others do not. Based on her face and body alone, I don't think that Kate Hudson is beautiful. She looks very average to me. At best, she is cute. And I am also not a big fan or anything. So what I am saying is relatively neutral. But there are a few things that I DO notice about Katethings that make her stand out. She has a sparkly personality. Her eyes possess a light. She has a rather authentic style about herthat whole bohemian hippy chic look. She wears it well and it doesn't seem pretentious. When I've seen her smiling on some red carpet on in an interview, she makes me believe THAT SMILE. She smiles with her whole face. She has a light about her. I believe that she gets this from her Mom. Goldie Hawn has never been particularly jaw-droppingly beautiful, but she is super cuteshe seems super funshe has that same light and joyful smile. I am a woman that finds both men and women attractive.
Hands down, I would take an "average-looking" person with loads of charisma, realness and light ANY DAYrahter than a person with a "perfect" face and body that lacks that "it" factordoesn't seem happy (does Victoria Beckham EVER look HAPPY?!?)Everything about Carmen Electra (including her name), either is fake or seems fake. Of your list of beautiful people, the only one that I have always admired and swooned over is Alyssa Milano. Sure, her boobs are fake but I've been a fan since I was a little kid and her beauty has never deviated. She is stunning. Her face is perfect and she looks so great no matter what her hairstyle. In interviews she is humble and she has that sparkle I keep talking about. She could've had any man she wanted and yet, she is now married to a very average-looking man. For all of her success, she could have become arrogant or full of -ish. But she hasn't. I don't know much about Kate Hudson, but I don't think that she seems full of herself either.
I consider myself a very attractive woman. A lot of men and women share my opinion of me. Then there are those that do not see me that way. We all perceive people and things differently. I'm very "girl next door" pretty and though I have a lovely figure, it sure as hell isn't perfect. To some, I would be described as a tall glass of water brickhouseother people may see me as "too much" or intimidated by my height and shape. That's okay. I realize and respect other people's right to view differently about what is beautiful or attractive. It's like that whole "waist to hip ratio" rule. Granted, many men are genetically predisposed to find it appealing. Why, then, are so many guys drawn to women with no shape? Or the ones that prefer girls that are small everywhere but have big butts? Or some men like little tiny petite girls that will forever have the body build of a 10 year old girl. Thankfully, there are those that appreciate those types AND my type.
And good for Kate Hudson. Regardless of how she won the role in that film that your friend had hoped would be HER "big break," it happened for a reason. I am also an aspiring actress and I realize how difficult it is out here! But by your definition, your waitress friend should have won that role based soley on her appearance. If that were the case, I know about a hundred men and women that should be starring in all of t1908he biggest films and tv shows. Plus, if your friend is as determined and talented as she should be, losing a big film role to a better-known actress is simply the business. Better she learns this stuff now because her chances of success are far greater if she gains some grit and strength from her loses. For actors, auditions are the very BEST practice. And for every rejection, for every "NO" received, a performer will learn a lot.
p.s. Again, I concur that Kate Hudson is not a stunning beauty, but it is incredibly ugly of you to refer to her "flaws" in such a mean-spiri

Kate is just a reincarnation of her mother, just minus the charisma that Goldie has. They both have amazing asses though.
When theres no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.

She's not a stunner, but she's cute enough. If she weren't Kate Hudson and she walked into any bar, there would be guys all over her.
The problem for her film career is that she lacks whatever it is mystique, vulnerability, something magic. Oh and talent. And the ability to pick a script.
Overall, being Goldie Hawn's daughter is nice work if you can get it.

Please put some dashes above your sig line so I won't think it's part of your dumb post.

I'd love to see the significant others of the people who think Kate Hudson isn't attractive, I'm guessing then you would really see unattractive.

Curious that you have invested so much time in your essay. I could only read a sentence or two before I came to the thought
            How does this concern you?
Perhaps the OP just wants to reach out for some sense of community.

Ehhh, she's got an awesome fit body and her face is pretty enough. Nothing to complain about.
