Do I think Mary J. Blige can do a great job as the role of Nina Simone? Yes. Like Nina Simone, Mary J. Blige can perform a variety of songs. We all know that Mary can Rap and sing R&B, but let's not forget about her outstanding performance singing "What Child Is This" with the Classical and Talented Andrea Bocelli. Mary was also Remarkable when singing "One Love" with Rocker U2. While growing up, one of her favorite singers was, and still is, Anita Baker; and Anita's music does have that R&B/Classical/Jazz melodies in it. Like Nina Simone, Mary is a strong woman who places positive messages in her music. She has definitely displayed growth as well as maturity. I look forward to Mary J Blige in her role as Nina Simone.
