"Parker Gail" was an astonishing performance. I'd love to see him get at least a nomination for this series.
He should've had one for "Sandy Passage."

  • What documentary is this based off?

I can see why it might not have appealed to everyone but I quite enjoyed it (and I've never seen any of Spalding's monologues before). Had a lesser actor played that role, it would have been pretty bad. But Hader did a stellar job and made the episode worth watching.

Qoting Mr. Wallach, "I wanted to find an actress who was vulnerable, yet resilient. Someone who, when the audience looked into her eyes, they saw the horrors of the holocaust. But, she had to be hot. Bridget Baily [sp?] was the It-girl of 1967. []. She had just the right wawawumm to play a holocaust survivor." With reagard to the film industry, truer words never spoken, no idea why it took him so long to win an Academy Award.

Also forgot to mention, some probably know this but there is actually a mini episode that the Documentary Now team members created for David Letterman; when he was awarded the Mark Twain Prize. They played his childhood friends from Indiana in it. The link is still up I think on YouTube titled "Documentary Now! David Letterman: Beginnings". I spaced out the link slashes so it would stay put on the new posts (just adjust them if needed):
