Yes, wow Not sure it was so easy, but pretty much true. Unless you'll consider that Jimmy "worked" as a prostitute when he first came to London, and if something else would've gone wrong, so you will never know. But then it gets complicated, since there was another man in the same picture, namely Nicholas Whitmore, sharing the same awful fate.
    The two last episodes were aired here last night, and all I can say is brilliant, loved every minute. I wasn't really surprised how it turned out, but it's a journey out of the ordinary, with fantastic actors/actresses, (whom everyone should be mentioned really, but the list would be long) and a really good script. So I might as well quote what The Guardian's TV blogger finally said;
What really impressed me was the discipline in the writing. Every action, every plot development and revelation felt organic, emerging inevitably from character and circumstance, not laziness or expedience. The story arc is complete now and nothing cries out for a sequel. That said, if Cassie and Sunny came across another cold case from another era with another set of suspects, I would very much be here for that.

And just as BROWNIE said; Thanks to the Brits for providing quality programming, it feels reassuring that these shows are still done.
PS. Not sure you'll read this, but a friendly advice; a spoiler in your OP would've been great 🙂

We thought this was a plot hole as well, but the DCI traced the number back to her landlady recalled her and who threw her out after her skinhead boyfriend showed up. So Beth must have been staying at this woman's house and not a squat during those few weeks she was clean and Jimmy was teaching her to read and write. So she must have given him her number from that place.

Hi Good-Will. Nice to see you again.
Yes, this will fit very nicely into the vacuum left by
    The Missing
    .
If there aren't any skeletons in a man's closet, there's probably a Bertha in his attic.

I don't think there's any doubt that the writers partly-based the character on Alan Sugar, that was apparent to me immediately and I've never even seen The Apprentice. I wonder what Alan thinks about it?

  • Trevor Eve's character based on Alan Sugar?

It was a good production with good performances etc but I can't think of another TV show with more token political correctness in it's characters and themes! It covered almost every -ism and -phobia that the writers could cram in! Too obviously I think, as to detract from it's realism. I have also noticed this trend in modern dramas. I wonder what they will think of for s02
If you want to make a drama about racism, do it! If you want to make a drama about homophobia, fine. But this was a kit and caboodle mish mash of those and even more including domestic violence, gangland torture, with the crime drama thrown in too it was just
    too
much to make a cohesive believable story.
I guess it supplies people with the requisite amount of entertainmant

    I'm glad you liked it!
Personally thinking about recording the rest of this season and then binge watching it myself, since the one week wait between episodes is tortuous.
If the opposite of Love is indifference, what's the opposite of Hate?

The OP does not explain what he or she meant by "politically correct " . It is usually a code phrase used to mean " There are Black or Asian , Gay or Disabled characters ". Well that is how it is in real life and this top-drawer drama reflects that fact.
I am a big fan of police dramas and this is one of the best.
